I now live in a country that consists of abbreviations.
Even its name can be abbreviated.
Just think...
I.O.U. (I owe you)
D.U.I (Driving under influence)
P.B.&J. (Peanut Butter and Jelly [sandwich](yes Marina!!))
A.K.A. (Also known as)
R.S.V.P. (Repondez S'il vous plait) (ok not really american but they use it!!)
C.E.O (Chief Executive Officer)
O.D. (overdose)
Not even mentioning the trivial CD, PC, LOL, ASAP and SOS.

Ira ~ That is SO true! There are so many abbreviations and everyone is just expected to know them. Good luck learning! :)

On a serious note - what other country would have a song with an abbreviation as a chorus??? (YMCA.....YMCA....)
What does it mean?
YMCA = Young Men's Christian Association
